Geekery is an awesome website which records all the tracks you listen to and then uses this information to give you personalised music recommendations. I’m a huge fan, and have used it to record almost everything I’ve ever listened to since early 2009. Here are some geeky statistics based on my listening history.

First up are my listening habits by time of day. I average 45 tracks a day and you can see that I literally work around the clock hunting for those killer tunes!

What's the time? It's time to get ill!

Next are the acts I listen to the most, plotted on a chart where the x-axis represents average listener age and the y-axis represents average listener gender.  The vast majority of music I like is listened to by people in their early twenties. However my results are skewed by Jah Wobble, who apparently is enjoyed mainly by blokes approaching forty! What can I say, I like the bass innit?

Intergalactic planetary, planetary intergalactic

Finally, here is a plot of my top ten artists from 2010. Toddla T took first place, with listens up from 2009 due to me caning ‘Sky Surfing’ over the summer. M.I.A came second, as I listened to her album loads before seeing her headline The Big Chill. Skream took third place, for no other reason than most tunes he releases are wicked and I still listen to his debut loads.

99 Red BalloonsSo there you have it, my life in stats.

For those of you who don’t get excited by graphs, don’t worry – new reggae, tropical dubstep and indian bassline mixes are coming soon :-)
